About HSKview

What is HSKview

HSKview is a free‑core collection of Chinese learning tools designed for English speakers. Our goal is to make the most confusing parts of Chinese — tones, measure words, stroke order, and polyphones — clear and easy to look up.

Every page is a reference you can search and browse, not a course. Look up any character or word to see its pinyin, tone, meaning, and stroke order. All core features are available directly in your browser — no registration or login required.

Data sources & licenses

Dictionary data is provided by CC-CEDICT (MDBG), licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. Some dictionary entries have been edited and curated for this website.

Character stroke-order data comes from hanzi-writer-data, derived from Make-Me-a-Hanzi, made available under the Arphic Public License (APL). Corresponding attribution appears in the site‑wide page footer.

HSK 3.0 character and word levels are extracted from published HSK 3.0 specification documents. English definitions are sourced from CC-CEDICT.

Polyphone and measure-word reference content is prepared internally with manual review; third-party explanatory texts are not directly reused.

Disclaimer

HSKview is an independent Mandarin−learning tool. It is not affiliated, endorsed or sponsored by HSK, Chinese Testing International or Center for Language Education and Cooperation. Our dataset provides complete coverage of the published HSK 3.0 syllabus. All vocabulary and character data is for reference only.
